Famie Doak Obituary

Famie Floe Doak, 96 of Rt. 2 West Union (Smithburg Community) passed away on Saturday, August 01, 2009 in the Salem Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on July 18, 1913 in Gilmer County a daughter of the late Cletus and Lulu Dicks Simon.

On July 17, 1935 she married Kermit E. Doak who preceded her in death in June 23, 1987.

Surviving is one daughter, K. Darlene McKinney, Rt. 2 West Union, (Smithburg Community), one son, Thomas Doak and his wife Anna, Rt.2 West Union, (Smithburg Community), grandchildren, Cathern Slater, Matthew and Wayne McKinney, all of Rt. 2 West Union,(Smithburg Community) Tricia Thomas, Channahon, IL, Steven McKinney, West Union, Jason McKinney, Greenwood, Anessa Musick, Reisterstown, MD, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Freda Guthrie and one niece, Beth Rogers.

One daughter, Raetta Joyce Doak, three brothers and 1 sister preceded her in death. She was the last surviving member of her immediately family.

Mrs. Doak was a member of the Smithburg United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mim will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Doak enjoyed crocheting.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in the Smithburg United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bill Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilbur Cemetery, Wilbur. Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 3, 2009 from 4-8 PM in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union.
