Emma Jean Moore, 75 of Center Point departed this life on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in the Genesis Health Care Center, Salem. She was born on June 23, 1940 at Ashley (Doddridge County) a daughter of the late Clyde L. and Cloris Murphy Moore.
Surviving is three brothers, Forest Moore and wife Carrie, Shirley, Ora Moore, Homer Moore, both of Center Point, one sister, Doris Montgomery and husband Bill, Woodsfield, OH, nephews, Forest Moore Jr. and wife Renee, Reader, Daniel Moore and wife Brenda, Shirley, Philip Moore and wife Denise, Shirley, Monte Montgomery and wife Kathy, Newcomerstown, OH, Rick Montgomery and wife Erin, Zanesville, OH, nieces, Faith Swann and husband Dave, West Union, Hope Balis and husband Jason, Big Flint, Charity Brinegar and husband Chad, Berkley Springs, Joy Keener and husband Josh, Fairmont, Patience Davis and husband Teddy, Clarksburg and several great nieces and nephews.
Jean was a 1958 graduate of Doddridge County High School and attended Salem College for two years. She was a U.S. Army veteran serving a three tour duty with two of those years being served in Japan. Jean was retired from Public Debt, Parkersburg with 30 years' service. After retirement she resided at her home place with her brothers. She was an avid cat lover and a fantastic cook and baker.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11:00AM with Bishop John Demorest officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. State Memorial Gardens, Elkins. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 4-8PM. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Moore family.
