Edward W. Demastus, 82, of West Union, Central Station Community, departed this life on Sunday, April 15, 2012 in the Salem Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born August 9, 1929 in Doddridge County a son of the late Charles and Elsie McIntyre Demastus. In August 1966 he married Margaret Marie Morris Demastus who preceded him in death on January 10, 2000.
He is survived by seven daughters, Terresa Marie Demastus, Clarksburg, Cathy Sue Smith, Clarksburg, Mary Ann Mauser, Morgantown, Tammy Lynn Demastus, West Union, Patsy James Demastus, Clarksburg, Betty Brown, West Union, Christina Evans, West Union, one son, Edward Demastus, Jr., Charleston, three grandchildren, Nicole Elizabeth Brown, Marc Jr. Brown, Tara Marie Evans and one brother, William Grant Demastus, West Union. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kitty Rose Demastus, one son, Danny Lee Demastus, one sister, Ellie Ormeg and three brothers, Sonny, Lloyd and Charles Demastus.
Mr. Demastus had retired in 1991 from the City of Salem. He loved deer, turkey and squirrel hunting. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 1:00PM with Pastor Mitchell Richards presiding. Interment will follow in the Duckworth Cemetery, Greenwood. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 11AM until time of service.
