Edna B. Spurgeon Video Tribute
Edna B. Spurgeon, 86, of West Union Sunnyside Community, W.Va., passed away January 17, 2011 at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 21, 1924 in Auburn, Ritchie County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Okey Lee and Okla Alda Bee Bush. Edna and her husband, C.J. Charlie, were former owners of the Spurgeon Funeral Home in West Union. She was retired from the Doddridge County Board of Education where she was a secretary. She was a member of the Eastern Star #56, and a member of the West Union Baptist Church.
Edna is survived by her two daughters, Doris Kay Sheets of West Union, W.Va. and Donna Rae Davis (Michael) of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; five grandchildren, John Todd Sheets, Michael C. Sheets (Ruth), Tammy Jo Sheets, Marcie Fields (Ray), and Crystal Lake; and five great-grandchildren, Stephanie Sheets, Jonathan Sheets, Troy Gum III, Megan Sheets, and Dalton Fullerton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Charlie Spurgeon, in 2002; two brothers, Marion and Dallas Bush; and one sister, Elma Spurgeon.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Spurgeon Funeral Home, West Union with Pastor Denver Burnside officiating. Interment will follow at the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
