Earldean Orris Davis Spencer, 88, of Rock Run Rd., West Union departed this life on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 2, 1926 on Big Flint a daughter of the late Orva and Cora Curry Davis. On December 28, 1946 she married Hugh Bud Spencer who preceded her in death on August 4, 2001.
Surviving is one son, Ronald Spencer and wife Debbie, Smithburg, one daughter, Rhonda Rossetti and husband Rocco, Bridgeport, grandchildren, Rocco S. Rossetti, Bridgeport, Anthony Rossetti, Belleville, IL, Andrea King and husband Troy, Charlotte, NC, Blaine Thomason and husband Jason, Eden, NC, Jennie Wright and husband Mike, Iwakuni, Japan, great grandchildren, Sheridan King, Kendall King, Lucy King and Tesla Thomason and several nieces and nephews. One brother, Romley Davis and wife Louise, two sisters, Glorianna Powell and husband Clinton and Giula Helmick and husband " Stretch" preceded her in death. The family would like to acknowledge a special devoted longtime, loving friend and caregiver, Theresa Sponaugle. They would also like to express their gratitude to her other caregivers, Juanita Pratt, Mildred Roy, Kerry Riffle and Jeanette Smith.
Mrs. Spencer was a very active member of the Rock Run Wesleyan Methodist Church for over 58 years where she had been a Sunday School teacher, class leader and a trustee. She had been a volunteer for many years at the United Hospital Center. Earldean was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Rock Run Wesleyan Methodist Church, Rock Run, West Union on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11AM with Pastor Tom Zimmerman officiating. Mrs. Spencer will lie in state one hour prior to her service. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. The family will receive friends in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Thursday, January 22,2015 from 2-8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rock Run Wesleyan Methodist Church, PO Box 72, Smithburg, WV 26436.
