Doris Jean "Toodles" McGill

Doris Jean "Toodles" McGill, 88 of West Union departed this life on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the Clarksburg Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Baltimore, MD on September 21, 1930 a daughter of the late Edward E. and Nora Hampson Jesson.



Surviving are two sons, Philip D. "Butch" McGill Jr. and wife Cindy, Mark A. McGill and wife Clara, both of West Union, one daughter, Marilyn McGill Cumberledge and husband Eric, Greenwood, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, two sisters, Betty Miller, Columbia, MD, Mary Lou Collins, Shelbyville, NC, two half sisters, Pam Hostetler, CA, Dottie Morgan, Clements, MD, half brother, Ronnie Gillingham, FL. One sister, Nancy Barth preceded her in death.



Mrs. McGill was a devoted homemaker until her children were raised. She then worked for the Doddridge County Senior Citizens as a cook and for Community Resources as a receptionist. Toodles enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Citizens Center, working in her yard and flower gardens. She was an avid Dirt Track Racing fan as well as WVU Football, Basketball and Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. Toodles attended the Britton Gospel Mission Church.



In keeping with her wishes she was cremated and a private memorial service will be held in the Britton Gospel Mission Church at the convenience of the family.Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the McGill family.
