Donny Lee Leasure

Donny L. Bucky Leasure, 67 of Gallipolis, Ohio departed this life on Friday, August 12, 2011 in the Rocksprings Rehabilitation Center, Pomeroy, Ohio.

He was born on January 31, 1944 in West Union, W.Va., a son of the late Zelma Lee Leasure.

Surviving are four daughters, Pam Koon of Shinnston, W.Va., Jodi Dennison and husband, Bob, of Clarksburg, W.Va., Charlotte Shaw, of Texas and Miranda Leasure of Pt. Pleasant, W.Va.; four sons, Donnie L. Leasure and wife, Lori, pf Pomeroy, Ohio, Donald Leasure and companion, Jan, of Gallipolis, Ohio, Billy Leasure, of Pennsylvania, and Gary Leasure, of Logan; one brother, Ernie Shields, of Tennessee; and several grandchildren.

One son, Gene, and one daughter, Nancy, preceded him in death.

Mr. Leasure retired from Consol Energy, Quarto Mining Division. He was a member of U.M.W.A. Local 1785, District 31. Donny especially enjoyed dirt track car racing and was a regular spectator at Skyline Speedway and I-77 Speedway.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front Street, West Union, W.Va. on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Denver Burnside presiding. Interment will follow in the Freeman Cemetery, West Union. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 10:30AM until service time.
