Donald “Animal” William Covill, 78, of Troy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at United Hospital Center following a brief illness.
Born on July 30, 1947, in Connecticut, he was the beloved son of the late Clarence William Covill and Alice Neilson Covill.
“Animal” as his friends knew him, worked as a carpenter until he hurt his back. And as a truck driver and oil field worker and over the road truck driver.
He will be deeply missed by his companion, Anita Reinhart; one son, Patrick M. Covill of Troy; his stepchildren, Ian Finley of Raleigh, North Carolina, Mercedes Finley of Florida, and Nicole Morales of Connecticut; and his cherished grandchildren, Jesse, Sky, Cash, Chloe, Noah, Sierra, and Savannah. He is also survived by one great-grandchild.
He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, quiet strength, and memories that will be held close by all who knew him.
