Dixie L. McAfee 72 of Railroad St. West Union passed away on Friday September 13, 2013 in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 28, 1941 in West Union a daughter of Pauline McCullough Wallace, West Union and the late Drexel E. Wallace. On August 5, 1961 she married James Lowell McAfee who survives.
Also surviving is two daughters, Rebecca L. Mattice and husband Mike, Houston, TX, Deanna Odle and husband Joe, West Union, two sons, James Lowell McAfee II and wife Kathy, West Union, Paul E. McAfee West Union, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, one sister, Karen L. Shaw and husband Ron, Bridgeport, one brother, Drexel E. Wallace Jr. and wife June, West Union, 2 nieces and 4 nephews.
Mrs. McAfee was employed by Myles Manufacturing as a seamstress and later worked as a sales clerk for DNC. She is a member of the Faith Baptist Church where she taught the Pre-School Sunday School Class. Dixie enjoyed making quilt tops and crafts. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family.
A memorial service will be conducted in the Faith Baptist Church, West Union on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 11:00AM with Pastor Jim Messenger presiding.
