Dennis Roy Swiger

Dennis Roy Swiger, 61, of Route 2, West Union passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in his residence.

He was born on February 12, 1949 in Salem, WV a son of the late Wayman Beaurl Swiger and Edna Ellen Ford Swiger. On May 20, 1978 he married Pamela J. Watson Swiger who survives.

Also surviving is one daughter, Susan Harris and husband, Shannon Harris, Sr., three grandsons, Shannon III, James and Benjamin Harris, two brothers, Larry Dale and Alford Beaurl Swiger, three sisters, Carol L. Bennett, Barbara A. Ash, Linda D. Nutter, two nieces, Anita and Angelina Underwood, one nephew, Randy Underwood and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald (Herb) and Lenard Swiger.

Mr. Swiger was a retired bus driver for the Doddridge County Board of Education and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
