Dennis Scott Powell

Dennis Scott Powell, 74 of Big Flint Community, West Union, WV passed away at home on January 15, 2025. He was born on December 25, 1950 at St. Mary's Hospital, Clarksburg WV, son of the late Kermit D. “Johnny” Powell and Geraldine Idell Douglas Powell. Denny retired from the Tyler Co. Board of Education after 35 years of teaching Technology Education. He enjoyed spending time working on his family home place and farm. He also loved spending time with his family, and will be greatly missed. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He leaves behind his wife Kay (Knight) Powell of 51 years of marriage; three loving children, Renee (Powell) Lipscomb and spouse Christopher Lipscomb, Morgantown, WV, Heather Danielle (Powell) Titchenal and spouse Adam Titchenal Bridgeport, WV, and Jonathan Powell and spouse Lenzie Powell of Big Flint, Doddridge Co. WV; 6 grandchildren: Caden, Colton & Cohen Lipscomb, Emily Titchenal, and Lincoln & Alaina Powell; siblings: Elwilda Stout of Belleville WV, Eva (Ted) McCall of Bridgeport, WV, and Daniel (Lisa) Powell of Pataskala, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Jerilyn (Elleen) Leasure, Parkersburg, WV and Ruth Ann Trent, Ladson ,SC. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home West Union, 212 Front Street West Union WV on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 4-8:00 PM and on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service at 2:00 PM  with Pastor Dwayne Matheny officiating.
