Delford Lee Young

Delford Lee Young, 90 of West Union departed this life on Monday, February 5, 2024 at his residence.  He was born on October 31, 1933 in Ripley, WV a son of the late Arthur and Ozella Redman Young. On November 29 1953, he married Opal Edwina Adams Young who preceded him in death on June 22, 2022.

Delford is survived by three daughters, Charlotte Lantz and husband Joe, Mineral Wells, Linda Coffman and husband Rick, New Milton, Cynthia Spaulding and husband Steve, Harrisville; daughter-in-law, Carla Young, Kingston, WA; 12 grandchildren, Manessa (Joe) Padilla, Melanie ( Scott) Danuser, Joseph (Brandi) Lantz, Jill (Jared) Bryant, Lori (Jeremy) Davis, Jordan ( Daniel) Hill, Emily (Derek) Doll, Erin Beck, Alice Linville, Shane (Cheyenne) Beck, John (fiancée Lauren) Spaulding and Connor Spaulding, 16 great grandchildren; one brother, Ron Jackson, Evans, GA; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Delford was preceded in death by one son, Roger Young; one grandson, Adam Young Coffman; one sister, Regina Young; six brothers, Opha Campbell, Falford Campbell, Raymond Young, Dwight Young, Arthur Young and Delano Young.

Delford graduated from Ripley High School. He retired from EQT on September 31, 1995 with over 39 years of service. He loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Delford was a loving husband taking care of his wife for the last 10 plus years prior to her passing, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home West Union, 212 Front Street West Union WV on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 3-7 PM and on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00PM with Pastor David McCauley officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Memorial Park.
