Cyrus Alexander Maxwell

Cyrus Alexander Maxwell, 29 of Kelly, NC departed this life on February 12, 2020. He was born on November 23, 1990 in Clarksburg a son of Oliver and Tonia Landers Maxwell.



He is survived by one brother, Patrick Maxwell and fianc Mindi Ketelsen, Clarksburg, nephew, Obadiah Maxwell, nieces, Lael Ketelsen, Lorelei and Luna Maxwell, aunts & uncles, Susan Landers, Shiela Lemasters, Kenneth Maxwell, Gary & Crystal Landers, Greg & Tonya Landers, Jerriann & Mike Cochran and many cousins and extended family and especially his K-9 friend "Shadow". One Uncle Douglas Landers and two cousins George Lemasters and Joseph Landers preceded him in death.



Cyrus was a 2009 graduate of Liberty High School where he played football, basketball and baseball. He enjoyed carpenter work. Cyrus was known to never take life to seriously. He was one of the most outgoing, caring and charismatic people you would ever encounter in life. He would always try his best to lighten any situation and lift the room just to make someone smile. Cyrus was the perfect combination of love and mischief. He was ornery and you could see it in his smirk. He loved his family deeply and he held his nieces and nephews close to his heart. He will be sadly missed by all who were blessed by his presence.



Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 56 Front St. West Union on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Samuel Evans presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday, February 17, 2020 from 4-8 p.m. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Maxwell family
