June Shields, 89 of West Union passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009 in the United Hospital Center.
She was born in Tyler County June 26, 1920 a daughter of the late Ira Newton and Rosie C. Wright Haught. On May 31, 2002 her husband Elisha W. Shields preceded her in death.
Surviving is one daughter, Ruth Ann Davisson Sinnett and husband Glenn, West Union, grandchildren, Michael Allen Davisson, Susie Jackson, Julie Poole, Robbie Jackson and several nieces and nephews.
One daughter, Patty Sue Donley, five sisters, Frankie Barr, Mava Marine Pattrick, Anna Audrey Reed Ada Mae Vandruff, Pansy O. Heflin, and one brother, Lawrence Haught preceded her in death.
Mrs. Shields worked for Myles Manufacturing as a seamstress for 20 years and was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union with Pastor Roger Morrison and Earnest Costilow officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 12-2PM in the funeral home chapel.
