Charles Eddie Anderson

Charles Eddie "Andy" Anderson Sr. of McElroy Creek Rd. Shirley departed this life on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at his residence. He was born on October 20, 1949 at Davis Run, Tyler Co. a son of the late Robert C. and Lexie G. Gains Anderson. On March 3, 1971 he married Connie Bland Anderson who survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Melinda Strihn and husband Jimmy, Clarksburg, Samantha Anderson, New Martinsville, Betsy Weekley and husband Dave, Salem, Dee Dee Anderson, Greensboro, PA, three sons, Charles E. Anderson Jr. St. Mary's, Clifford B. Anderson, Shirley, Lewis R. Anderson, Welch, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. One brother, Lewis Anderson and one sister, Esther Vandruff preceded him in death.

Mr. Anderson had worked for Dilmur Oil Company for 35 years where he served as Vice President. He also worked for Village Square and Salem University as a Security Guard and was a policeman for the City of Salem. Andy was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran serving in the 25tth Infantry. He enjoyed hunting and all outdoors activity. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
