Wilt, 88, formerly of West Union departed this life on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. She was born February 14, 1927 in Braxton County a daughter of the late Douglas V James and Olive Kuhl James Pratt. On June 17, 1945 she married Claude Wilt, Jr. who preceded her in death on March 11, 2004. Also surviving are two daughters, Deborah Morris and husband Cecil, Fairmont, Cathy Trent and husband Randy, Salem, two sons, Steven L. Wilt and wife, Marsha, Salem, Mike Wilt and wife Sharon, Ripley, one sister, Mrs. Q.V. Baker, Bridgeport, grandchildren, Gregory Wilt, Jennifer Wilt, Angie Steinberg, Bambi Boring, Brandi Kelley, Kristen Gerth, Amanda Sutton, Timmy Morris, Kara Greathouse, Kimberly Downey, Rachael Gain, twenty two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son Ronald L. Wilt and brother Virgil E. James. Carrie was a graduate of Lewis County High School and had retired as Head Bookkeeper for the West Union Bank in 1991. She was a 50 year member and Past Matron of the Eastern Star #56, West Union and was a member of the Past Matron's and Patron's Club of the Eastern Star. She was an active member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted in Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 311 Church St. West Union on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00AM with Pastor David McCauley officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. There will be viewing in the church prior to her service from 9:30-10:30AM. The family will receive friends in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 3-8PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 311 Church St. West Union, WV 26456.
