Carrie Lee Sponaugle

Carrie Lee Sponaugle, 77 of New Milton departed this life on July 24, 2017 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport following an extended illness. She was born on February 28, 1940 a daughter of the late George and Goldie Blake Kelley. On July 21, 1957 she married George Clinton Sponaugle who survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Pamela Childers and husband Marvin, Richmond, IN, sons, Jeffrey Sponaugle and companion Judy, Stedman, NC, Nicholas Sponaugle and wife Violet, Salem, Devin P. Sponaugle, Germany, Daniel Sponaugle and wife Debbie, Fairmont, Zachary Sponaugle, New Milton, 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, three sisters Josephine (Babe) Zucosky and Francis McFerren, Weirton, Carol (Paul) Verner, Wooster, OH, one brother, Garner "Hoot" Kelley, (Deloris) Weirton. She was preceded in death by daughter Kimberly Jill Towner, grandson, George Alan Childers and four brothers, Burl, Bernard, Dale and Marvin (Jim) Kelley.
Mrs. Sponaugle was a homemaker where she had provided a home for several foster children and was a member of the Blandville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 1:00PM with Pastor Bill Davis presiding. Interment will follow in the 7th Day Baptist Cemetery, Middle Island. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, July 28, 2017 after 11AM until time of service.
