Carl Thomas Bowen

Carl Thomas Bowen, 79, of Little Elk Rd., Wallace departed this life on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in River Oaks Nursing Home, Nutter Fort. He was born on November 29, 1937 at Melitus, a son of the late Lot T. and Margarett S. Swann Bowen.Surviving are five brothers, Robert Bowen and wife Shirley, Salem, Raymond "Pete" Bowen and wife Mary, Daniel Bowen and wife Sharon, both of Chicago, IL, John Bowen and wife Evelyn, Wallace, Jr. Bowen and wife Debbie, Wolf Summit, and several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta J. Woodson, three brothers, Timothy, Wesley & James Bowen.Mr. Bowen had been employed by Thrall Car Steel, Chicago Heights, IL as a steel worker. He was protestant by faith. Carl dedicated the last years of his life taking care of his mother and brother, Timmy.Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Pastor John Freeman. Interment will follow in the Eddy Cemetery, Melitus. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 4-8 PM and after 9 AM on Monday until time of service.
