Burleen Beatrice Cumpston,87, formerly of New Milton departed this life on Sunday, January 16, 2011. She was born in Doddridge County on June 7, 1923 a daughter of the late Frank and Heaster Randolph Keister. She was formerly married to Rev. Marshall E. Cumpston who preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1982.
Surviving are five daughters; Veda Carpenter and husband Butch, Parkersburg, Nancy Bastin and husband Paul Sonny, Lake Floyd, Janet Michels and husband Ronald, Parkersburg, Marsha Gnagey, Washington, PA, Debbie Bastin, Bridgeport, one son, Rick Cumpston and wife Kendra, Clarksburg, eleven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, one sister, Helen Butcher, Weston and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Kathleen Crislip, Eula Mae Cosner, one brother, Paul Keister and son-in-law, Tom Gnagey precedes her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 1:00PM in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St. West Union with Pastor Sherman Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Mission Cemetery, New Milton. Family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 4-8PM and after 9AM on Wednesday until time of service.
