Betty Louise White

Betty Louise White, 85, of Cortland, NY, formerly of Greenwood departed this life on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in the Cortland Regional Medical Center, Cortland, NY. She was born on February 4, 1929 in West Union a daughter of the late Orvil Lester and Mollie Thelma Jinkens Stevens. On August 8, 1948 she married Myron Burdette White who preceded her in death on March 21, 1996.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas Lee White and wife Rebecca, Virginia Beach, VA, Orvil Leslie White and his wife Christene, Cortland, NY, five grandchildren, Brian White, Jeffrey White, Martina White, Justin White & Kevin White, two sisters, Ida May McCutchan and husband Ralph of Greenwood, Juanita Collins and husband Bob of Pullman, brother Leonard Stevens and wife Jeannie of Clarksburg and sister-in-law Pat Stevens of Ridley. She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Betty had been a homemaker and a member of the West Union Christian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be sadly missed by her family.Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 1PM in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union with Richard McMillan presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. Family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 11AM until time of service.
