Bessie Boyce

Bessie Boyce, 80, of Rock Run Rd., West Union departed this life on Friday, April 7, 2017 in the Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on November 22, 1936 at Copen, WV, a daughter of the late Dorsey and Bertha Steele Nicholson. In August of 1977, she married Zenith Boyce who preceded her in death on October 4, 2014.

Surviving are one daughter, Cindy Marie Martin and husband Lonnie, Woodbridge, VA, and several nieces and nephews. Bessie was the last surviving member of her immediate family being preceded in death by one son, James Nicholson, five brothers, and four sisters.

Mrs. Boyce was a former employee of Ritchie Furniture, West Union and Scio Pottery, Scio, OH. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, making jewelry and collecting clocks. She was a loving mother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Denver Burnside presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 4-8 PM.
