Benjamin (Ben) Adams Obituary

Benjamin Franklin (Ben) Adams, 87 of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Complete Care nursing home in Wheaton MD.

Ben was born January 11, 1938 in Oxford, Ritchie County, son of the late Silas (Coy) Adams and Iva Gay Stout Adams.

Ben attended a one room elementary school at Halbrook, WV for 8 years where he graduated. He graduated from Harrisville High School.  He was drafted into the US army where he was military police officer. After receiving an honorable discharge from the military he returned to West Union where he worked at the A&P grocery store where he retired after more than 20 years of service.

Benjamin spent his free time outdoors where he worked as a tree trimmer and water finder for friends and family. He loved animals especially cats and dogs and he often adopted strays. He enjoyed feeding the deer and other wild animals.

In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Myrna Wright Adams: four brothers, Cecil Adams, Eugene Adams, Charles Adams and Joe Adams; four sisters Retha Adams, Ruth Adams Pierce, Opal Adams-Young and Beatrice Adams Urban.

Ben is survived by three siblings: Kenneth Adams and wife Paulette, Carol Adams Jones, and Joan Adams Brace; numerous nieces and nephews.
