Barbara Hunt Travis 72, of the Crystal Lake Community departed her earthly life on Thursday February 20th at UHC Hospital surrounded by her family by her side. Barbara was born in Clay, WV on June 24th 1952 a daughter of the late Holland and Betty Connor Hunt. On June 3rd, 1972, she married Mike Travis, who survives. Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Adam Skeens of Hurricane, WV, her grandchildren Parker and Lydia Skeens. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Paul Weekley; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Smokey and Robin Travis and Mark and Tammy Travis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Pat Travis and father-in-law Duke Travis. Barb graduated from Doddridge County High School in 1970 and worked at Ingersoll Rand Company in Clarksburg until its closing. She retired from the Cornerstone Bank in 2008 as the Branch Manager of the Ritchie County Office. She was a faithful member of the West Union Christian Church. Barb loved DCHS sports and was an avid WVU Mountaineer fan, being a season ticket holder for 48 years. Barb loved her yearly trips with family to the Smokey Mountains and above all, will be remembered for her love and generosity shown to her family. Funeral services will be conducted in the Davis Funeral Home – West Union, 212 Front Street, West Union, WV on Monday February 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ben Blair presiding. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 2-7 p.m. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, Crystal Lake.
