Artie Seckman Obituary

Artie Mae Seckman 73 of HC 67 West Union (Elk Lick Community) went home to be with her Lord on Saturday November 7, 2009 in her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 13, 1936 on Elk Lick a daughter of the late Russell R. and Hattie Cork Underwood. Her husband Makle Seckman preceded her in death.

Surviving is one daughter Grace O. Rudder and husband Edward, Elk Lick, West Union, three grandchildren, Matt Rudder and wife, Pam, Julie Perine and husband Adam, Kellie Cross and husband Ernie, six great grandchildren, Olivia, Madison, Reagan and Rylee Mae Rudder, Ethan and Evan Cross, one brother, Edison Jerry Underwood and wife Ginger, Sistersville and several nieces and nephews. One brother Denzil Cork preceded her in death.

Mrs. Seckman was retired from the Salem Industrial Home for Youth as a cook with 23 years service. She was a charter member of the Elk Lick Church of God where she had served as Church Clerk for 25 years. Artie Mae enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 10, 2009 in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union at 1:00 PM with Bishop Kenneth Turner, Reverend Paul Flanigan and Dr. Mark Hardgrove presiding. Interment will follow in the Christian Church Cemetery, Center Point. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home chapel on Monday, November 9, 2009 from 2-8PM and after 9AM on Tuesday until time of her service.
