Arlene Ruth Bland

Arlene Ruth Bland 80 of Blandville departed this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. She was born on January 31, 1940 in McFarland, Ritchie County a daughter of the late Vernon and Ethel Merle McCray Haught. On June 7, 1958 she married Robert C. Bland who survives her.



She is also survived by one daughter, Lisa Paesano and husband John, Follansbee, two sons, Jeffrey R. Bland and wife Cheryl, Wellsburg and K. Todd Bland and wife Kim, Columbus, OH, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Naomi Dillon, Parkersburg, Christine Pearce, Warren, OH. Arlene was preceded in death by her son, Timothy D. Bland and brothers Gerald and Grant Haught.



Arlene was a 1958 graduate of Doddridge County High School, a 25 year member of the Brooke County Football Mothers and previously worked as a receptionist at Crown of Gold Salon. She was a member of Blandville United Methodist Church. Arlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.



Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 56 Front St. West Union, Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11:00AM with Pastor Bill Davis presiding. Interment will follow in the Blandville Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 4-8PM.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to WVU Cancer Foundation P.O.
