Albert Edgar Obituary

Albert E. Ash, 75, of West Union departed this life on Monday, June 25, 2012 in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg. He was born December 29, 1936 on Big Battle, Doddridge County a son of Freda Ford Ash, Salem and the late Murle Ash. He was preceded in death by his wife, Camilla Fisher Ash on March 5, 2001.

Surviving are three daughters, Melissa Sutton, Salem, Karen Siders and husband, Jeffrey, Salem, Martha Cade and husband Greg, Salem, one son, Phillip Ash and wife Rebecca, Parkersburg, 10 grandchildren, Tiffany Sutton, Ian Ash, Caleb Cade, Jayde Britton, Albert Keith Britton, Devron Siders, Emily Cade, Jessica Siders, Eli Ash and Jon Edgar Ash, five sisters, Sharon Darby, FL., Janice Evans, Salem, Rita Costilow, West Union, Rhonda Cavins, Grafton, Donna Yerkey, Salem, six brothers, Lester Ash, Salem, Larry (Charlie) Ash, TN., Kenneth (Leonard) Ash, Salem, Freeman Ash, Salem, Richard (Rick) Ash, Salem and Jeffrey Ash, Salem. He was preceded in death by one brother, Rexford Ash.

Mr. Ash was a graduate of the Doddridge County High School and retired from Mon Power. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and was a member of the American Legion #25 and VFW# 3408. Albert was a member of the Vermont Baptist Church. Albert was an avid Doddridge County Bulldog Sports fan and was at all sporting events. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union with Pastor Chad Ash presiding. Interment will follow in the Christian Church Cemetery, Center Point. Full military graveside rites will be accorded by the combined Doddridge County Veterans Organizations. Family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 2-8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vermont Baptist Church, c/o Ora Ash, Route 2, Box 242, Salem, WV 26426.
